On September 19, the Vietnam Web Summit (VWS) 2025 successfully concluded at the Grand Palace in Ho Chi Minh City, marking its first edition as a unified Web and Mobile Summit. The event reached record scale, underscoring Vietnam’s growing presence in the global digital economy.
Organizers reported participation from over 10,000 attendees, more than 80 global speakers, and 500+ companies and organizations. Among them were 600 C-level executives and entrepreneurs, while more than half of the participants came from IT and digital industries.
The summit was centered on three themes: Tech – foundation for the digital age, AI – the ultimate enabler, and Data – the fuel for growth. Keynotes and sessions explored next-generation infrastructure such as API-first strategies and cloud-native systems, as well as AI-driven business innovation and data-powered personalization.
Exhibitions featured corporate showcases, startup pitching stages, and innovation pavilions. Organizers noted that thousands of business meetings took place, many of which are expected to result in contracts and investments. A newly introduced after-party program also received strong praise for fostering informal networking among speakers, startups, and investors.
A key highlight was the participation of Shinhan Financial Group as a Gold Sponsor. Shinhan shared its digital finance and investment strategies for the Asian market and actively engaged with startups and enterprises. Through its Shinhan Square Bridge Vietnam initiative, the group also promoted Korea–Vietnam collaboration, linking financial support with social impact.
The Impact Foundation further enriched the summit by showcasing programs that emphasized sustainability and social responsibility. Startups tackling environmental and social issues were highlighted, positioning VWS not just as a technology conference but as an impact-driven global summit.
Industry leaders praised the event’s outcomes. Bob, CEO of Etherlab, said
“VWS 2025 was unique because it brought together technology, finance, and social value. It proved that Vietnam’s digital ecosystem is now competitive across Asia.”
He added
“With financial groups like Shinhan involved, the summit showcased a new model where technology and capital move forward together.”
Jonny Yang, CEO of Creatory, also commented
“This year’s VWS stood out because startups, enterprises, investors, and impact organizations all came together to create real opportunities. The collaboration involving Shinhan and the Impact Foundation was especially significant.”
He concluded
“If Korea, Vietnam, and other Asian countries strengthen this model of cooperation, the region will become a central pillar of the global digital economy.”
With its successful conclusion, VWS 2025 is now regarded not only as a technology showcase but as a regional platform where finance, startups, and social impact converge, solidifying its position as one of Asia’s leading digital summits.
